The Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust is happy to announce a search for an Emerging Leader to serve on the Trust Board. You will be a full voting and participating trustee on a special one-year term from the date of appointment.
Our goal is to bring a fresh and different perspective to our Board and its work on behalf of penguins, plants, and people. We also seek to encourage and mentor the next generation of leaders in our community. We are committed to offering training, orientation, and support to make this Trustee successful in their term.

ELIGIBILITY:
For the term of the Emerging Leader, applicants must be 18 – 25 years old on 01 October, 2021. Prospective candidates must be committed to the mission and goals of the Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust.
PREPARING TO APPLY:
We expect the Emerging Leader Trustee to be a competitive application process. Before applying, it is recommended that you familiarise yourself with the Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust. COMMITMENT
Board commitment: Trust Boards provide serious and necessary oversight and support to their organisations, and trustees have legal obligations to help fulfill these duties. The Emerging Leader Trustee will be appointed to serve a 1-year term as a full voting member on the Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust. The Emerging Leader is expected to fulfill the duties of a regular Trustee (see the ‘Information for Emerging Leader Trustee’ for these details).
Staff and Board Trustees are committed to supporting the positive development of leadership skills and knowledge in the Emerging Leader Trustee. Additional training, meeting, and mentoring will be offered to ensure the Emerging Leader is prepared and supported for a successful term of service.
