Join Pohatu Penguins Sea-Kayaking Safari & Support YEPT
Pohatu Penguins in Akaroa, Canterbury, are celebrating Sea Week (3 – 11 March 2018) and supporting the Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust by donating 50% of the proceeds from 3 sea-kayaking tours on Saturday 10th March.
This trip can be mind blowing in the right sea conditions. The outer coast of Pohatu Marine Reserve is spectacular with towering sea cliffs sculpted through the ages by the sea into rock stacks, reefs, and deep sea caves. Flea Bay Island and the impressive island arch make an added exciting attraction in settled sea conditions.
Pohatu Marine Reserve also has diverse wildlife with many marine species such as penguins, several seal colonies and is often visited by Hectors Dolphins and a great range of sea bird species.
Experience is not necessary, trips are only run in settled safe conditions and fully guided by experienced guides.
Tours will depart from the Pohatu Booking Office behind the BNZ Bank in Akaroa with departure times at 8am, 11.30am and 3pm. $95 per person with 50% donated to the Trust. Bookings are essential. Please contact the team via email tours@pohatu.co.nz or phone 03 304 8542
