A great day at Otapahi Reserve

We wanted to show you a few photos of a great planting day held at one of the Trust’s Reserves on the Otago Peninsula on the 26th August. We had a variety of people helping us that day – six members of the Wednesday nursery volunteers, three visiting Americans from the University of Otago Botany Department, three employees from Mercure Hotel Dunedin, one research student from the Zoology department, and three staff members.

So you can imagine with all this help, we got heaps done. We planted over 225 plants, maintained and weeded previous plantings, built a stile to make it a bit easier to get over the fence, and built a seat for viewing penguins without disturbing them.

All this and we were home by 4pm!

Many thanks to those who helped on the day – we couldn’t do it without you.

Cheers
