2022 Yellow-eyed Penguin Symposium

 

 

 

 

 

 

The annual Yellow-eyed Penguin Symposium is on again for 2022.

Please note the date for this symposium is a week earlier than normal.

 

Date: Saturday 30 July 2022

Time: 9am – 4pm

Venue: Archway 2 Lecture Theatre (located in the Archway Building on the corner of Union Street East and Leith Walk (look for the YEPT flags along the way!)

University of Otago, Dunedin (map can be found here).

 

Presentations

The overall format for the day is unchanged. The morning session will focus on season reports for monitoring, research, habitat and survey work undertaken over the past year. The afternoon session will allow for longer presentations on relevant issues as required.

Please indicate on the registration form if your group would like to report and who will be speaking on behalf of your group. We will try our best to accommodate all requests to present.

We request that presenters indicate how their talk aligns to one or more actions within Te Mahere Rima Tau. The intention of this is to show the breadth of the community commitment to the conservation of this species.

 

COVID-19 Regulations

The University does not make masks mandatory indoors as they believe it is impractical to enforce this and it goes beyond the Government requirements for Orange Level.

However, masks are an important tool to keep ourselves and others safe in situations where physical distancing is not feasible; while case numbers remain high in our community and during the upcoming winter cold and flu season.

Whether you wear a mask or not is a personal choice; please be respectful of each other.

 

Catering

Morning tea and lunch will be provided as in previous years. Please indicate on your registration form if you have any dietary requirements and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Registration is staying at $35 per person and the symposium price is budgeted to cover costs only, there is no intention to make a profit.

We can only confirm your registration once you have forwarded your registration fee or made other arrangements for payment, due to catering requirements.
