Monitoring, rescue and rehabilitaion
We monitor hoiho during the breeding and moult season to ensure parents are healthy and to give chicks the best chance of survival.
Lost at Sea
Our Ocean Advocacy
We campaign for marine protection for hoiho at sea. Hoiho need a healthy marine ecosystem with adequate fish to hunt and safe passage at sea.
From Seeds to Trees
Our native plant nursery
We raise thousands of eco-sourced plants to restore the coastal wetlands, shrublands and forests where hoiho nest.
Building Biodiversity
Our nature reserves
We take care of six coastal reserves across Otago dedicated to the enhancement and protection of native species.
