Feeding
Yellow-eyed penguins can travel daily up to 15 km from shore to feeding grounds and feed mainly at the edge of the Continental Shelf.
They have been found in fishing nets set at 100m depth.
Food consists of 6 main species of fish:
- Red Cod
- Opal Fish
- Sprat
- Silversides
- Ahuru
- Blue Cod
They also eat squid.
