Slate grey-blue with white breast and belly.
Solid yellow feathers on head, with yellow eyes and eye band.
Males and females are identical in colouring.
Immature birds have grey eyes and no yellow eye band. Yellow head plumage is muted or absent. Adult plumage achieved at 14-16 months.
Chicks are coated with thick dark brown down feathers.
