Yellow eyes and eye band.
Flesh coloured feet.

Habitat Forest and scrub land

Voice A shrill call.

Lifespan At least 22 years.

Eggs Usually lays two white eggs.

Population Mainland New Zealand, estimated 450 pairs (2002)
Stewart Island, estimated 200 pairs (Blair, 2000)
Sub-antarctic islands, estimated 1200 pairs (Moore, 1992)
