A great day at Otapahi Reserve
Posted on August 26th, 2009 No comments
We wanted to show you a few photos of a great planting day held at one of the Trust’s Reserves on the Otago Peninsula on the 26th August. We had a variety of people helping us that day…6 members of the Wednesday Nursery volunteers, 3 visiting Americans from the University of Otago Botany Department, 3 employees from Mercure Hotel Dunedin, 1 research student from the Zoology department, and 3 staff members.
So you can imagine with all this help, we got heaps done. We planted over 225 plants, maintained and weeded previous plantings, built a stile to make it a bit easier to get over the fence and built a seat for viewing penguins without disturbing them.
All this and we were home by 4pm!
Many thanks to those that helped on the day – we couldn’t do it without you.
Cheers
Margaret
